After each session, you will be given short 'follow-up tasks' to carry out with a learner in your school or setting, practising the skills you have learnt so far. You then give feedback on the tasks at the next training session, so you learn from each other as well as from your Catch Up® Accredited Trainer. Your feedback on the follow-up tasks is then built upon during the next training session(s), enabling you to rapidly develop your Catch Up® skills.
Your training and support package includes a 60-minute session for the member of staff who will manage the intervention in your school. It considers in detail the effective management of the intervention in school or other setting.
Around 6 months after your training, we offer a half-day session that reviews your delivery of Catch Up®, and gives further guidance for all trained members of staff delivering Catch Up® and the member of staff who is managing it.
All Catch Up® training is delivered by our Catch Up® Accredited Trainers, who have trained more than 21,000 adults to deliver the interventions. Catch Up® training has won three National Training Awards and is accredited by Gateway Qualifications, and nationally recognised in the Qualifications and Credit Framework.
In addition, our Catch Up® Numeracy training achieved the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) standard for CPD (Continuing Professional Development) in 2010, 2012 and 2014.
